Office 2007: The Quick Access Toolbar

To the right of the Microsoft Office 2007 button is the customisable Quick Access Toolbar containing the Undo, Redo, and Save commands. To customize the Quick Access Toolbar, click the drop-down arrow to the right of the toolbar. Click on More Commands to launch the Excel Options window. In the Customize category, simply select the commands (or icons) you wish to be displayed on the Quick Access Toolbar then click Add.

Highlighting a range of cells

Click the cell from the top left of the data table (i.e. the first data entry), hold down the SHIFT key and click at the bottom-right of the table (i.e. the last data entry).

Highlighting a range of cells... again

Click the cell from the top left of the data table (i.e. the first data entry), hold down CTRL-SHIFT and tap the right arrow (>) key then down arrow. This selects the entire data table straight-away.

 

MS Word: Mouse Technique 1

To place the cursor position anywhere in the the document, simply double-click on the desired location. Works best in a blank document. Try it!

 

MS Word: Selection Made Easy

To select a word, double-click.

To select an entire paragraph, position cursor anywhere inside the paragraph then triple-click.

To move (and select at the same time) from one word to another, hold down CTRL-SHIFT and tap the right or left arrow key.
